Instagram Add ‘Explore’ Page Ad Placement

As newsfeed ad placements become congested, Instagram are opening up new ad placements within the Explore page in the next few months which will target users with similar interests to the respective brand.

Ads will not be on the actual grid itself, however will start showing as the user scrolls through the Explore feed.

Instagram considers “the mindset where people are most receptive to advertising.” The Explore page made it a logical fit for ads because it’s where “people come to discover new accounts or people or brands that they don’t already follow.” Susan Buckner Rose, director of business product marketing told The Verge.

With more brands utilising Facebook and Instagram advertising, both platforms are continually looking at new ad placements where brands can reach users.
